You can now make and receive phone calls right from your Mac desktop. Increasing productivity and convenience as demonstrated by ( Craig Federighi SVP of Software Engineering at Apple Inc), during June 2nd WWDC 2014. OSX 10.10 Yosemite is built to allow a more seamless experience between Mac and iOS Devices – enabling instant messages and other notification from other iOS devices to show up on your Mac desktop.

The ability to make and receive phone calls right from your Mac when your iPhone is in range, is a real game changer – never again will you be interrupted while using your Mac and have to walk up to pick a phone call from the power outlet where the iPhone is being charged.
