Croatian High School Grads Push Photographer Into Fountain, Destroy $18K in Gear

This is reason 13,281 why you should always insure your gear, you never know when a rowdy bunch of over-excited Croatian high school grads just might push you into a freezing fountain, destroying all your gear.

A poor Croatian photojournalist, Marko Lukunić lost almost $18,000 of camera equipment after being pushed into a fountain, and it wall caught on camera. (Video below).

Photojournalists are frequently sent in to cover the students celebrating their last year in school on the streets. In this situation, the students got a little too celebratory and after dunking a fellow student decide to push Mr. Lukunić into the freezing fountain.

When he got out of the fountain, the kids had run off, leaving him with a Nikon D4, Nikon D3, Nikon 70-200 f/2.8, Nikon 17-35 f/2.8, Nikon 35-70 f/2.8, 64GB iPad Retina and iPhone5s all waterlogged and ruined. Fortunately for Lukunić, the two kids who pushed him have been caught, and them (or their parents) will be held responsible for replacing/compensating him for his gear. Fortunately for the students, Lukunić, who says he hurt his leg in the fall, doesn’t want to seek any further compensation than that.
