A woman stunned shop workers when she walked into their store, picked up a flat screen TV which was still in its packaging, then wedged it between her legs and walked off. And she did it all in just 12 seconds.
CCTV footage shows the woman and her accomplice strolling into the shop in the town of Guapiles in Central Costa Rica, before spotting a pile of flat screen TVs.
After quickly looking around the store the woman is seen picking up the TV, straddling it, straightening her ankle-length dress and then walking off with it wedged between her thighs. Shop assistant Jacint Ramírez Callas, 25, said: ‘She did it so quickly no one had time to notice or react.
‘And having watched the video its amazing that the TV doesn’t fall out from between her legs. ‘She must be a pro or have very thick thighs. She left as she didn’t have a care in the world. I’ve never sen anything like it.’
Police have released footage of the daring theft, in the hope that someone recognises the woman and tips them off. A police spokesman said: ‘We believe this woman has had a lot of experience of doing this as it only took her 12 seconds from start to finish. ‘Either she has been practicing at home or has carried out similar thefts and we appeal to anybody might know more to get in touch.’
